- Patricia's new book has arrived: Chopped Liver for the Family
Spirit - Inspiring stories from successful authors. With stories
contributed by nearly 50 authors, this book contains stories of everyday
heroes who embrace challenges, the "chopped liver" life dishes out,
and come out winners. No decade has escaped the inhumanity of depression
and war, complete with flag-draped coffins and soup kitchens. These
stories reflect courage, hope, and humor in the face of all we experience...

- Dear Royal Readers,
Happy Holidays from Power for Kids, Inc. and The King
of Skittledeedoo. For those of you who requested our holiday newsletter
and have not yet received it, please reply to this e-mail with your
mailing address and we will get one out to you.
We are delighted to share our news of working with the Writers Guild
Foundation after a successful project with the Screen Actors Guild
Foundation. We are also shooting the pilot for our reading-based television
show at KITV in Hawaii. On our website we have posted the following:
Meanwhile, we wish you a cool Yule and every happiness in the new
year. Our next Los Angeles Times story will appear December 29th on
the Kids Page in the Comics section and is called: "Snowboard or No
Board"
Remember, it is our mission to foster a love of reading in every child.
Reading reigns -- just ask all the royal readers we helped this past
year. And please keep up you incredible support. We need to reach
these children before they are too grown. Reading is power and it
is our intent to give every child a copy of The King of Skittledeedoo.
Our school programs are so successful that we need to make videos
in order to accommodate requests! Each $25 you contribute helps one
child with a book and literacy kit that includes reading activities
and a velvet pouch containing letters and words.
We have worked tirelessly and without salary for three years now and
know we are making a difference. It feels so good to help. Please
help us by exercising your fingers by writing a tax-deductible check
to: Power for Kids, 12021 Wilshire Blvd. #924, Los Angeles, CA, 90025.
We are the only literacy organization that combines a children's picture
book with a school program. What we do works! Remember, no child should
be thrown away. We need to raise literate children as we are going
to turn our world over to them soon enough.
Warmly,
Patricia Rust Founder and Executive Director Power for Kids, Inc.
